Growing a team is one thing. Growing a company takes something more.
At a certain point, the way you got here starts to hold you back. Decisions stay with the founders. Managers need to become leaders. Growth brings complexity as well as opportunity.
Follis works alongside consulting leaders to connect strategy, organisation and leadership, so the next stage of growth has a solid foundation.
01
Strategic advisory
Choose your direction. Build the business.
Turn ambition into choices about where to compete, how to organise and what to focus on next.
Growth strategy and implementation
Organisation design and operating rhythm
Commercial focus, performance and KPIs
02
Leadership & business coaching
Help your leaders grow with the firm.
Give founders, business managers and leadership teams a practical sounding board for the decisions they face.
Leadership development and communication
Business-manager ownership and accountability
Talent development and management practices
03
Independent board support
A wider perspective. A sharper conversation.
Bring independent challenge to the choices shaping your company's future, with attention to both ambition and execution.
Strategic challenge and decision support
Governance and leadership alignment
Continuity across growth and change
02 / Growth changes the job
Different scale. Different questions.
Headcount is only part of the story. Choose a stage to explore the shifts your leadership team may be facing.
From founder-led to team-led
Create room for others to lead.
When every important question comes back to the founders, growth consumes the very people driving it. The next step is clearer ownership and a management team that can take responsibility.
Illustrative stages, not a fixed formula. Your starting point depends on your business.
03 / How we work
Close to your business. Focused on the work.
Advice earns its place when it helps you make a better decision, have a better conversation or change how the business runs.
01 / Understand
Start with your reality.
Explore the business, the numbers and the people. Make the underlying growth challenges visible before jumping to solutions.
02 / Focus
Make the important choices.
Agree on the priorities, the responsibilities and what progress should look like. Connect the company ambition to the leadership agenda.
03 / Follow through
Turn insight into practice.
Work on real decisions through advisory and coaching. Review what is changing, challenge what is stuck and adjust as the firm evolves.
✳
The format follows the need: a focused strategic question, a leadership coaching journey or an ongoing advisory relationship.
Nick AllaertFounder / Follis
04 / Your sparring partner
A business is built by its people.
Follis is Nick Allaert's advisory and coaching practice for leaders building consulting companies.
Nick brings hands-on experience in technology consulting leadership, business development, P&L responsibility and organisational change. His work connects company strategy with the people and management practices needed to make it happen.
The conversation can move from company direction to a business manager's day-to-day decisions, always with the wider business in view.
Follis focuses on consulting companies that want to grow and professionalise, from a few dozen consultants to 500 and beyond. The common thread is a leadership team ready to work on the business as well as in it.
Do we start with advisory or coaching?+
Start with the question you are trying to solve. Company strategy, organisation and performance may call for advisory. Leadership, ownership and management practices may call for coaching. Many situations connect the two.
Who is involved in an engagement?+
That depends on the challenge. It can involve founders and partners, the executive team, business-unit leaders or individual business managers. The right participants and scope are agreed together.
What happens in a first conversation?+
We explore your company, your ambition and what is getting in the way. From there, we can discuss whether Follis is a fit and what a useful engagement could look like. Scope, timing and fees are agreed before work begins.
The next chapter starts with a conversation.
